2024 M4 Competition xDrive - Build insights

Welcomed my first M car earlier this week—new 2024 G82 M4 competition xdrive in black sapphire metallic with black extended merino leather interior.

I’m looking for advice on cosmetic mods that broadly fall within an OEM+ aesthetic. Between this coming week and next week I plan to do the following:

(1) Full front PPF and ceramic coat
(2) 35% tint all around (excluding windshield)
(3) NW Carbon Haus CSL style carbon grill
(4) NW Carbon Haus carbon vents
(5) Springs (TBD)
(6) Spacers (15f/12r)

Would love to hear your thoughts and recommendations.

I will update this thread with pictures as the build moves forward. For the time being:

Quick update: springs and spacers being installed on Thursday. Pictures to come.

Went with H&R springs and 12mm spacers in the rear and 15mm spacers in the front.

I can offer no advice on mods, but it looks sharp! Congrats and safe travels.

Looks slick! I’d add just a few mods:

1. Painted reflectors to color match the black
https://ind-distribution.com/collect...-reflector-set

2. Goldenwrench engine caps set, in red to match the calipers
https://ind-distribution.com/collect...et-edition-red

If you wanted to get other pops of red, you could get the CS grill as well. Though, with the red on the grill, it might start looking like
Kit from Knight Rider.

I think that's a nice subtle build and looks good to start! +1 on the painted reflector. Did you do springs all around or just the front?

H&R springs and spacers installed today. It’s been raining for 2 weeks straight here so no good pictures yet.

Next week I’m getting tints, PPF, carbon CSL style grill, and carbon CSL style vents installed.

Oil cooler guard is a MUST! And an exhaust valve controller of course.

Few quick updates here. My front driver’s side wheel rubs very badly against the fender liner when turned in reverse. I go back to the shop for an alignment in two weeks and hoping they can trim down as much of the liner as possible. I’m on the PZero tires, which I understand generally rub more than the Michelins. Assuming the shop can get the rubbing in order, I’m loving the stance. I don’t feel any difference in ride quality.

I also removed the xDrive badge from the rear. I think it looks cleaner without the badge.

As a fellow BSM M4 owner you may want to consider IND color match front reflectors. The orange reflectors are bad on most colors and really stick out on BSM, being the only orange on the entire car.

Thank you! I was thinking about asking my PPF shop to put some black vinyl over it as a more cost effective option.

tint the reflectors when you get the windows done, looks good, and still moderately functional

Once is a "typo" multiple times usually means the person doesn't know what the correct word is.

Nah, means he is an executive not a secretary.

I could use your help with tint. I’m getting the entire car other than the front windshield tinted on Wednesday. What % would you pick? I think my daily came from factory with 20% and learning towards that. However, the G82 being black on black, wondering if that’s too dark. What do you think?

My opinion only: 20% on a Black/Black car with a solid roof will be really dark. It will look “Murdered out” or like you’re selling drugs. But it’s a popular option nonetheless.

My preference is 35%.

You may not have that issue if you drop your front spacers down to 12mm ones. 15’s poke out too far anyway from the looks of it. Not a good look.

Agree. 35% is about as far as I'd go. To me, 20% might attract too much LEO attention.
