Hello Everyone,

Anyone able to order an Xdrive M3 Comp. under MSRP?
One of my friends was able to get almost 10% off an M340i recently. Just curious if anyone was going below MSRP on the M3s. The market seems to be slowing down now that its been out for a few years.

Thanks!

The demand is pretty much as strong as it’s been since day 1. The only thing that could potentially be slowing down is people waiting for LCI, but most buyers have no clue what that is or when it’s happening.

Now, if you want an M4, especially convertible, those can be found under MSRP.

If you imagine the MSRP is higher you will feel like you got a great deal if you pay MSRP.

Seriously tho seems like there are a few opportunities to save 1-3% if you dig around but most people seem to report paying MSRP.

M340s are a dime a dozen. You never see M3’s on the lot. Hence why you can get deals on M4. Where the M3 deals are if someone backs out of an order and the dealer puts it out on the floor. Even then you are lucky if you get 1%-3% off msrp. There have been some lucky people on here that have had relationships with dealers and have gotten below msrp. Still minor discounts though. It’s not like years ago when you could get 5k,10k,15k off msrp. You can definitely get it at msrp. M3s are still hot as ever and the demand for them has not changed.

Nailed it…demand for the m3 is super strong still. My SA said the M rep was in last week and said the past two years were the highest demand years ever for m cars. So wanting discounts are going to be tough.

Unfortunately, not anywhere near where I live! Paid MSRP ($110180.00 out the door) in May for my 2024 M4 Comp. X-Drive and was happy to since I got my car in under 3 months. Only discount off that was 'BMW military'.

This is true and I attribute it to the fact that the M3/4 have virtually no competion in the market right now. Benz and Audi alternatives just aren’t there or are considered subpar. I have been driving M’s since the E36 and I have never seen demand this strong except for back when the E36 launched. Back then the demand was super strong and largely resembled today’s M market.

Looks like there’s plenty at MSRP (in CA at least), I’d bet you could get it under MSRP at the end of the month. Good time of year to buy a car.

Yeah, I went into the M4 market hoping for some nice discounts, but I'm afraid the decreased demand is a bit overstated. Even trying to play a bit of hardball, I still wound up paying just a hair under MSRP. I also had to fight for the military discount.

I got my M4 Comp xDrive for 11% under MSRP. That being said the M4 market is the one thats softening. One of my local dealerships that i have some purchase history with, offered me an IOMG M3 Comp xDrive for about 4k under MSRP. She did tell me though that this was specifically an End of Year deal that she was offering me and that if i wanted to order one, the best she could do was MSRP.

I am in NorCal in the SF Bay Area so we do tend to have A LOT of stock as there are a ton of dealerships in my area. That does help with negotiations at least. Might be harder in areas where theres only 1-2 dealers.

It does depend a lot on where you live. For me, here in NC, there is usually zero inventory, especially if you want a manual transmission, and MSRP or higher is the standard. When I bought my second M4, I had to travel to the far north of Ohio and was able to snag a nice discount because it was literally December 30 when I made the deal.

It also pays to be flexible on colors and options.

Those are ALL ripoffs with hidden costs
My Manual 2023 MSRP was just above $85k. I paid MSRP for it.

Big difference between CA and PA, Every Dealer I went into and asked them to work up a price for me on an M4 - I was asked if I worked one up online. When I said YES they said "well that's the price".

Sad, but true in a lot of circumstances. People are rejoicing that they "only" have to pay MSRP and dealer fees.

I ordered one from the factory paid MSRP, no markup, some of the dealers in the Seattle area charging 10k markup on M3 Comps. Luckily BMW of Seattle didn't do that to me.

Serious question - who is paying these markups on an M3? They're not that hard to find. If local dealers play games, just buy out of state and pay $1k - $2k to ship. Or fly and drive home.

I was just offered a swap into a new M4 by my delear - suggests demand is softening no?

Taking a bigger step back higher rates is softening aggregate auto demand

I purchased my G80 10/31 and was able to get 3% under MSRP. I haven’t heard anything greater than 3% as others have mentioned. You can definitely get something under msrp if you push and are willing to wait for an order. Unfortunately no loyalty rebates it seems on G8X. Good luck.
