How to PROPERLY Wash Your Car - The 2-Bucket Method

This is the NUMBER ONE thing that people do to their paint, that causes THE MOST AMOUNT OF PAINT DAMAGE. Incorrect washing is just as bad as washing your car with sandpaper. Most people do this wrong, of they do what they THINK is right but because they haven't fully though it through, they don't realize how much damage they are doing to their paint. In this video, I am going to unplug a lot of people from the Matrix and help them understand just how much damage they are doing to their paint without even realizing it.

For me, it's therapeutic. Me and my car just hanging out. Gives me time to clear my head and talk to myself. You couldn't pay me to use a car wash. With as much as I work, it's a miracle that I find the time but that's the price you pay when you own the business you work for.

I would watch this, but it's 36 minutes long. What I got from it, skimming through, is you're using a clean water bucket with a grit catcher between wipes.

Newest method is single bucket, no grit guard and a wash mitt for each body panel. Pull a mitt from your soap water bucket, clean a panel and discard it into an empty bucket for rinsing/washing later. This way you never introduce contaminants back into your fresh soap water. Process ends up being faster as well since you aren't spending time rinsing out your mitt, just grabbing another that is ready to go.

That still sounds like a 2 bucket method, just different.

This has been my method for the past few years.
