It is.. but what from Porsche isn't crazy money. But a 6MT 911 which comes standard with PASM and RWS, is only 3,300 lbs, and can be tuned to put out 500+ hp is a pretty compelling package if I want to spec brand new.

Went in to sit and start up a Spyder RS..... wunderbar and at least felt special. My wife didn't like the buckets though - she liked the 911 much more. I haven't driven any 911 newer than the 90s so I have no way to gauge either without properly test driving. *sigh* Got 4 or 5 months to figure it out.

Nice post and congrats for the new car 😎
My 2 cents, as I see you have a genuine passion, if you really want to learn how to drive and you didn’t do it already, I would recommend investing in a decently prepared racing level go kart and build up 800/1000 mile on track (a nice track, not indoor BS with 5hp electric junky). |

Great post, i came down to either a new 911 carera t or a 2025 g80 m3 (both 6sp) and ended up with the m3. The 911 was so fun to drive(test drove one with buckets which were super uncomfortable for me, im 6’2 200 relatively muscular) but because im still in a condo downtown i opted for the m3. Easier to bang around town in…once i buy my house and have a garage i will keep the g80 and add a 991 gt3 to the garage as my race car.
I think depending on your need and current stable, that should really drive the decision as these cars are both phenomenal. |

Just throwing this into the 911 thread though it may not have any bearing on anything - test drove a 992.1 911 S and a 991.2 GT3. Wife did not like the buckets. @ 5'3" she couldn't place a foot out of the car so getting out was difficult for her. We did find out that you can add lumbar support which would go a long ways to making the GT3 more comfortable for longer trips.

True - I'd rather get one with buckets and buy comfy seats on the side. The buckets are stupid expensive if purchased separately. (I know - we're already in ridiculous money with the Porsche conversation already, lol) If we pull the trigger, I think we'll try the memory foam addition and the brackets that tilt the seats a little and see if that helps.

I found out that you can buy LWB seat brackets to give the seats a tilt to them. Supposedly that helps for longer trips. And, you can buy a lumbar attachment or add memory foam to make it more comfortable.
