What does the exhaust dump do on the active autowerke single midpipe? Is that something recommended to buy? It is kind of pricey so want to see what the benefits are vs regular single midpipe

More sound since it's pretty close to the downpipes, that's about it.
It's not in an ideal position since the gases need to do a 90 degree turn but it'll do. If you have catless downpipes and that cutout doesn't seal perfectly you'll be smelling them constantly.

The dump will allow you to bypass the exhaust component for the loudest straight pipe sound possible.

It's just an option for the guy that wants something loud and something different from mostly everyone else. It is very close to the DP so it's like having no exhaust. It is pricy as the Dump Valve is made here in the US, but very high quality.

It's really hard to sell this $1k feature without a video. I'm not sure why AA hasn't released any clips (offroad applications).
