As a person in the Metallurgical field, I would NEVER buy chinese metal, ESPECIALLY FOR WHEELS! AND...Especially if I am driving my family on them.

I mean, OK I hear you, but some of the biggest names in the industry, most notably Apex, source their wheels out of China...

I don't want to HiJack the OPs thread as I applaud him for trying to help out others. I have no info on Apex or the OPs wheel, just saying, Most not all of China's metals are JUNK!
Ever heard the old saying... You get what you pay for?

I wish the OP best of luck with these wheels and I really do hope they work out for them.

RANT INCOMING

You get what you pay for is an over used and stupid term the moment your comparing different economy’s, the cost of producing anything in another country being variable means you can get two identical items and pay a different price for them. I understand that QC matters but to says MOST chinese metals are junk is the thought process that lead to them having their hands in every industry and us being screwed without them, this (consumer level) idea that they don’t produce quality is outrageous, sure they don’t innovate but when it comes to making copies of something already on the market they will make it make it just as good as the original if you pay enough money, so yeh you do get what you pay for but if you pay for quality in china you’ll get it but it’ll cost you an arm and a leg less than getting jabbed up the ar$3 by the local guy that buys his blanks from china and just need to cover the cost of his machinery, software and over charged labour cost. I can’t be 100% sure but I do believe the wheels on our cars are all made in Taiwan but a 3rd party that also manufacture for VAG, Porsche and Merc, companies name is SAI (Super alloy)

Let's list wheel models that are 100% not sourced in assembly and materials from China/Taiwan.

It's a very, very short list.

Pretty sure 826m’s are made in Taiwan…..yet replacing them with Chinese fully forged wheels is somehow blasphemy

Did you post the manufacturer name on here yet? Also how are the wheels doing? Considering getting a set off Alibaba.com soon.
