I have my moments.
I think it's very obvious that this car was built around the ZF8 and the manual is a bit of an afterthought. I admit I get a little jealous sometimes looking at the performance figures coming out of the automatic cars, and I can imagine how much of a blast this car would be with lightning fast shifts and more advantageous gearing.
But there are days where I'm shifting through the gears and everything feels right. Crisp shifts, perfect clutch engagement, I feel in tune with the car. It's not every day I feel like that, but when I do, it makes having the manual worth it to me.
I briefly toyed with putting an order in for a G80 xDrive, but after a really nice drive over the weekend I decided I'm going to stick with what I've got.
To add, my car before this was a GT350, with a far more engaging clutch and gear shift. It's taken a bit to get used to the feel of the M3. I suppose I need to look into the CDV delete.
