There really wouldn't have been anything else for me when I bought the M3. The M3 has been one of my dream cars since the E46 days and I was finally at a place where it made sense to actually get one. Otherwise I would have likely just held onto my X3 M40i for a bit longer, especially given the way the car market has gone as of late.

I suppose if I were actually in the market for a new and was cross shopping it against others…well, there still wouldn't have been much that would pique my interest. I'm not much of a fan of the Alfa, the Caddy is cool but not a big fan of the styling, and also not a fan of the Merc going towards the 4cyl and electrification. Only other 4 door car that would really get me interested would be a Porsche Panamera and in the spec I'd want, it's no where close to being within my reach.

I'm getting very close to being a year in on owning the M3 and this is probably the first car that I haven't been already thinking about what to get next at this point. Instead I'm still thinking about what mods are next. The M3 still checks all the boxes for me with regards to performance, fun, engagement, tech, and usability for a daily driver.
