They don't care about part throttle driving so the whole set up is an efficient as possible (especially the cylinder heads) so they require less boost to get to 1000 BHP. He does explain that they got nearly 200 BHP from the headwork alone when the car was around 800 BHP.

On a road car which you want to drive normally on part throttle you wouldn't be able to set it up this way and would need lots of boost which would then over stress the rod and result in the picture you have posted.
200bhp from headwork is pretty crazy.
