My vote (after using both LiquidMoly and Motul in my S4) is that Motul is a much better oil. For the S58 motor, it’s either the 5-30 FE Motul or the 5-40 excess gen2, which is the same oil I use in the S4 and has the BMW cert without the FE shit, which is just “fuel economy”. I’d say it all depends on how hard you drive the car/engine will depict on if you should be fine with the thinner oil or go to 40. FYI, the BMW specific Motul at 5-30 FE has much better sheer resistance than other oils.
