I work in insurance, fortunately this would be a comprehensive claim! Also fortunately, going through insurance shouldn't make the process any longer depending on the company. It's very much dependent on when the part can come. Like most said, repair from a radiator shop shouldn't be too bad. However, a replacement will always be more so a comp claim may be in order. Just remember that the rock was unavoidable if they happen to ask, OP.
I wish I had your insurance when I ran into road debris on my CBR1000 that State Farm classified as "collision" and proceeded to ding my rates for the next 3 years.
