Over the years (dating back to my original e46 M3), I have always kept a full-sized spare (value-priced alloy wheel with whatever all season tire was the best price at the time) around, and I strap it down in the trunk if I'm taking a longer road trip or otherwise feel the need.
For my G80, I'd like to do the same.
Looks like a 275/35/19 has a diameter of 26.6 inches. As compared to a 285/30/20 with 26.7 inches. So it's a 0.4% difference based on the online tire calculator I checked.
If I do a 19x9.5 et 22 wheel with a 275/35/19, would that be safe to run as a spare on the rear (opposite a 285/30/20) without damaging the diff? Thanks for your thoughts!
