I just got back from the dealership and the master technician states that the hot 🥵 temps make the cars thermostat open more than usual and by using the AC in auto mode turns the fan on at its highest speed. The vehicle cools faster because coolant is constantly moving through the system by the thermostat opening more often. He said that in the winter it’s cooler so the thermostat will open less often but of course at its specified temperature so the gauge is more consistent. Please don’t shoot the messenger I’m just relaying what the tech told me and the advisor at the same time. They are going to send the information collected to a BMW engineer. Temps in my part of NM have been averaging 102-106 consistently. They did provide a document that I will summarize when I read it’s entirety!
