My G83 came with Pirellis and I have no issues with them. I also did a few hours of driving a variety of M cars at BMWs Spartanburg track and they use the Continentals at the school house. The continentals have as much grip as the P-Zeros but they got greasy when heated up. Last week I put on Michelin AS 4s on due to colder weather. The AS4s really impress me. The grip is as strong as the P-Zeros and steering is only slightly duller. I am curious how they perform in warmer weather but will have to wait a little while to observe that.

On a side note, the zeros have are about 50% rear and 70% front of useful tread left with 7000 miles when swapped.

For public roads, I don’t think any particular brand is going to fail you in performance out of the three brands that BMW has marked as OEM for these cars. Seems like the Michelins of any variety have the best treadwear based on the forum posts I have seen.
