Maybe, maybe not. Would have been nice for the US to have gotten the chance at it though.
The Audi and Merc wagons are priced substantially higher so they are going to be out of the price range for a fair amount of individuals. The M3 Touring would have scratched the itch for a performance oriented wagon at a more affordable price point from the Germans.
