The Laserlights in my X5 come on very rarely since I live in a city and mostly drive in populated areas. They did come on when I did a road trip from California to Utah. My understanding is that you have to have the automatic high beams button clicked, be on a limited-access road (i.e., a highway), driving over 37 MPH and no other cars visible.
