BMW South Africa which at one time assembled RHD E30 had a one off E30 323i Ute built as a first response vehicle on race days at Kyalami A lot of South Africans were quite keen on having a German Bakkie (Ute) to take on the Ford Cortina Bakkie that sold so well in South Africa in the early 80’s pity it never materialised.
I could absolutely see Cam Smith driving something like this.
