This is not new.

Transport Canada has legalized variable headlight beam patterns since March 2018, yet most European manufacturers (BMW, MB, Audi) go the easy route and still deny us the functionality in Canada, likely for ease of standardization with the US.

I am however happy that Porsche broke the mold and that the functionality of LED Matrix headlights on my 992 are fully enabled from the factory. Hopefully other manufacturers will follow suit.
