Cosmetics aside, you can tell the engineers really put a lot of development into the overall driving dynamics.
I've always been hesitant to lower any car with just "springs" and this proves it, as they test multiple different shock/damper settings until they are happy. Changing the springs would just ruin that completely, coilovers would be a completely different story.
