I am paralyzed and use hand controls in all of my vehicles. Luckily I found out that BMW FS has a program where they will pay for your hand controls up to a certain amount. They pretty much reimburse you for the cost of putting them in. This has saved me quite a bit of money since hand controls are over $2000 easily especially for newer cars. I last utilized this program on my F31 lease and will definitely be utilizing it when I get my G82 M4 Xdrive. Below is a link explaining it in detail.
