I would understand when the MT shifts direct, with short throws and high precision in combination with a clutch with a limited pedal travel. Most of the MT from BMW I had were nothing like that: long travel on the pedal and rubbery long throw shifts.
However, none of the M's I drove where MT, maybe they're better?
