I use Sonax Wheel Rim Shield (
https://www.sonaxusa.com/sonax-wheel-rim-shield.html) on my X3M Comp's wheels after they're cleaned. As long as you don't over coat them and let it completely dry before you drive, it works pretty well. It really does keep the rims clean, although on my wheels, brake dust accumulates on the inside "channel" because it gets stuck there (see attached pic). The face of the rim itself stays remarkably dust-free so it's a good way to keep things clean between washes...
