No. This is where people are not thinking it through.

If your EV and your ICE has a range of 300 miles, that doesn't mean they can be treated the same. You can't let your EV drop to say 50 miles of range because a) if you suddenly need to get out of your usual commute, is there a charger available? and b) it takes a LOT longer to charge.

This is the problem in a nutshell, at this point, people just buy a hybrid because there's too much stress keeping the EV topped up.
