Usually cars that understeer are easier to drive, which takes away from its ability to change directions. However, the M235i GC had just enough oversteer at the limit, especially during trail braking, to make its shorter, lighter, wheelbase rotate in a more predictable and controllable manner than the M340i. It was a nice balance. It's not that the M340i wasn't good, it was just not
as fun as the M235i.
Not to say that the M340i wasn't fun or capable. I did manage to induce a very tiny bit of a drift/slide between the back two right turns turns with the M340i (as much as could be allowed in sport mode and whatever TC setting it was on), which was much easier to do with the added power. I thought I was going to get kicked off the course. The instructor did mention that drifting wasn't the fastest way around the course, I took that as a warning.
