Do you have any idea? The M3/4 German pdf clealy states that you get a leather upper dash when ordering the full merino upholstery, but I was unable to find a similar guide for the M5.

Looks like upper dash depends upon involved leather & seat options. Also looks like leather upper dash is separate equipment 4M5. [US M550i order guide offers 4M5 as $700 option to delete 4AW SensaTec.] Hope you can translate with this link:
