It's worse in an autoX, where I'd add throttle progressively out of a turn only to find no response. More throttle, nothing. Then the turbo finally builds enough boost and it smacks you in the face, and you're way out of position because you asked for that power 100ft ago.

And as you said, it's not exactly a looker.

The 340 was on a different planet for me, capabilities-wise.
I was taken a bit by his opinion of the M235i which is arguably the worst car in BMW's current line-up. However, you know what they say about opinions. There's no scenario where I would take a FWD M235i over a RWD M340I or even an XI but again we are all individuals here.

PS. OMG G80 is growing on me but i still have almost 2 years left for an upgrade so who knows how I will feel then. There's also the G87 which should be out by the time my lease is up.
I would not take an M235 GC either. I was just surprised how well it drove in the auto-X. On that note I wouldn't take a M340i either. It just didn't deliver what am looking for in a high performance sedan. Until I drive the G80, I am not yet convinced BMW's M division will be delivering the types of
cars that we have grown to love without Albert Biermann.
