This is actually a thing. If your foot position isn't correct, in D3/S3, the more "jerky" shifts can case your foot to not move correctly in relation to the car shifting, causing you to go back and forth on the throttle, which then causes more jerky accelerations and decelerations.

I remember this happening to me in the early days of sport car driving, you learn to adjust your foot pressure though, but it is definitely a thing for those who aren't used to this kind of power.
