I was originally going to place an order for an M5 last year after 10 plus years owning 4 dodge chargers. However, after being warned about the limits of the 4.4 V8 and the lack of styling personally for me of the current generation M5. I tried to purchase a new Shelby GT500 which it was set to arrived within a week at the dealer. it listed for 83k but they had a 10k markup. I just couldn’t pay above MSRP. I change to the S58 M3. I was sold on the unlimited tuning potential of this vehicle and AWD (even though we’re not there yet, but the potential in the S58). I ended up paying more for the M3…but at least it was at MSRP

I did not fall in love with this vehicle during the initial release. I was one of many who laughed and was in disbelief of the styling. However, I did instantly fall in love Rago’s video of the FDG which I may of helped reach it’s 2 million plus views. Through the waiting period of securing an allocation, I must of changed colors over a 100 times. Although I loved the FDG, I was reluctant on the maintenance and simply the additional cost of the color. Many forum members took so many shots of PMB, IOMG, FDG, Dravit grey that I can’t thank enough. I switched everyday after watching one video or saw a new photo. Needless to say by the time I actually secured my allocation in October. I didn’t decided on FDG the morning of (IOMG was a tough second). My family was in disbelief after all the back forth I ended back to the color that made me fall in love with the car. I’m certainly glad I did…although @RockinPA is starting to make me doubt with his Mexico blue M3.

So far I have driven almost 500 miles since last Wednesday. None of it was for work, all of it was for joy. I simply love what this car can do that the Charger Hellcat simply could not. I’m sorry I don’t have great photos yet. It’s getting PPF and tint in two weeks. After that I will try to get better shots.

Thanks you for the long read and thank you for the forum members that has been amazingly helpful. (@Modat, @CANE, @Bahamut, @VIC55, @PSYlovibe, @F80SRT, @Androidrobot, @M3AWD, @OG_E46) I’m sure I missed some. Thank you guys for helping/guiding me through this experience.
Congrats and great build!
