I think with a mild tune all these cars have a cushion already built in but if you push it too high then you are definitely playing with fire. As with @Ibiza I know a mate with an M4 CS who’s engine when pop after the guy that chip tuned it pushed it too far and the repair bill from BMW was over £20K, lucky for him the tuners insurance picked up the bill.
