If you don't have convertible experience yet... My ownership of an M240i have convinced me that they're not great for highway duty. I'm sure the M8 is more refined, but it's too windy and loud, especially if there's any real traffic around. On back roads with good weather and light traffic, a convertible was dreamy. But for longer highway stretches, with the roof down it was tiring. (With the roof up, it was better, but noise and visibility were much worse than a sedan/coupe...) |
My M4 is very quiet even on the highway. I don't notice it being any louder than my F80. The only negative vs non-vert is the reduced visibility out the rear window and increased blind spots. The blind spot monitoring helps a lot.
