I am certainly considering replacing my F82 DCT with a G80 M3 (I'm leaning towards that as I think I prefer the looks over the G82).
However to your point about 'allocations' over here in the UK there are a number of new ones floating about in the dealer network with decent specs.
Also in the last week or so they've even started popping up on the Approved Used locator - which I assume are ex-press/demo/BMW internal fleet cars. So if you're not overly fussy about speccing your car from scratch there are a number out there, approved used is the route I will take (so someone else has picked up the tab for intial depreciation and running in service!).
