Yeah, this not a thing to be upset about. If you switch it off, it's off until you you switch it on. I've had my F80 MT for over six years and I had auto on/off on for 5 minutes once just to test it out. Had a good laugh and never turned it on again  |
Remember last setting for auto stop/start died with the F3X/F8X generation. US regulations do not allow the manufacturers to claim the fuel mileage benefit (maroney and cafe) unless it comes on every start. Will need to be coded.
On the plus side the latest systems are worlds better. I drove 2020 m340 and x5 and it was much smoother. Add fast forward to this year and the 48v mild hybrid in the 2021 B58s and I couldn't tell other than the engine sound it was there.
However on my f30 6mt I did find I would just hold the touch down at stop lights more often just to leave the engine running if I forgot to disable
