Question, doesn't the vehicle allow you to lock/unlock the doors with the physical key blade, in the event that the battery dies or any of the electrical system fails?

I'm not suggesting that you don't eventually get the underlying issue resolved but that might work as an interim solution.
the door lock is physically stuck in the open position. the alarm is set though when you lock the car with the key fob, but you can just walk up to the door and open it, alarm will trigger.

any solution where i take the car back and forth is just a hassle for me, more times the door trim/panels/window is removed and put back on, etc.

i think my best bet is to leave the vehicle at service, minimizes additional things happening, etc and probably maximizes BMW and dealer's incentive to fix the car
