The 7BMW and the 7DSP do not need the center speaker input to produce the center speaker output, and no OEM audio information is lost by not using a center speaker input of the RAM. No VCP in either.
In the 10DSP, a center input is used for the VCP processing in a 1 to 1 configuration -all 9ch inputs, all 9ch outputs- so any center upmixing is also processed by the VCP -this is useful if playing Dolby Digital encoded movies, not required for mono sounds (phone calls, gongs). Nevertheless, a center input is not required to create a center speaker, the 10DSP will create a center from the front L/R inputs.
