No idea on why there are restrictions, and why for example you can get it in Canada (Source, Dealer channel on Youtube) and not in the US.
If you select the BMW Ind. Vizualizer for UK, you can see FDG still there.
Concerning my car, first estimate is 6 months + 2,5 months for FDG. But we will know a bit better in a few weeks.
