The reason, I'm told, why they dropped the DCT was it's inability to cope with more power and torque which S58 produces, than what S55 did

That's nonsense, ZF makes the PDK for Porsche and it can handle more torque than what the S58 puts out. ZF has a lot of transmissions in their lineup as do other companies which can more than handle things.
