Times and the actual risks haven't changed, people are just aware that the neighbor is creepy (not saying our forum friend here is creepy...but in general).
People are the same as they ever have been.
Edit: MOST people aren't creepy. But parents are more aware of the risks, and less willing to take them now. Some of it is over-reaction, but a lot of bad stuff happened in the old days (including decades before the 90's) that folk got away with that they wouldn't anymore. So a good thing? |
24 hour news and social media have a lot to do with this, I'd say. Someone in Seattle gets food poisoning after eating some mail order fish and you might hear about it these days. It's not good; not entirely, anyway
