There are also obviously non technical considerations for the final manufacturer selection. I believe only two manufacturers will eventually supply tires for a given front/rear combination. Interesting point on the heat dissipation of the front tire. I recall in the Viper ACR Ring record years ago they had constant issues because the front tire has almost no sidewall.
