That being the case then I would guess it would remain completely stationary if you are not pressing the throttle.

I think I might not be asking this correctly. Let me try it this way...
Think of how a centrifugal clutch acts. The DCT somewhat acted like that from a dead stop. You had like a nanosecond to blip the throttle before it started moving forward. So if someone was staring at there phone at a red light, I could quickly slap my throttle and my car would rev like a 1000rpm up and NOT move forward INSTANTLY.
In a normal everyday auto, if you let go of ther brake, you are moving forward and even if the car has auto hold, once you blip the throttle you are MOVING.
So DCT's centrifugal clutch like feeling gave you nanosecond to rev your motor. Which I like. Most normal autos DO NOT act like a centrifugal clutch/DCT feeling.
