I think it's hard for folk who were around "in the old days" to not feel the artificial feeling in almost every modern car. It strikes me periodically even though I really love my car. Some of it is a bundle of "30 Helens agree, it was better before" and some of it is totally accurate. For the most part, I personally try to accept what we've lost as an offset to what we've gained. It's easier on some cars than others.
It's fun to see the Angry Water Fowl giggling so much, though.
