M3s of all generations are the perfect jack of all trades. In a single car you can tear it up at the track and then drop your kids off at school, pick up your inlaws from the airport, etc etc
The tires that come with the car are not designed for the track. There are some track worthy tires that are perfectly streetable, like the RS4, RT660, RE71, A052, etc etc. Those will maintain their performance with more extended track use and are friendly enough to drive every day
