... NHP was not cheap. I was doing 140 north of Tonopah and got pulled over by a NHP'er in a jeep. I realized it was a "police" car at the same time my radar detector went into angry bird mode.

Yeah radar detectors def aren't 100% solution. I run mine with waze simultaneously, I think that's about as good as it gets.
Btw did you not get handcuffed being pulled over at 140? |
