Instant on radar its the same. Used to be California Highway Patrol (CHP) bought cheap radar units that required a long warm up period ...

... NHP was not cheap. I was doing 140 north of Tonopah and got pulled over by a NHP'er in a jeep. I realized it was a "police" car at the same time my radar detector went into angry bird mode.
