I don't think SPY will be as popular - for example - as the launch color Marina Bay Blue on the F90 M5. Bright blue is a more palatable color to the masses, not just the BMW enthusiasts on this forum. Most M5s (I would bet 75%) are some variety of the grayscale (black, white, silver, and everything in between)

SPY might be exciting to the followers on this forum, and I understand the typical M3 buyer is younger and may be looking for a more "vibrant" shade on their M3 than an M5 but there are several alternative "safer" bright colors available for the M3 (IOMGreen, Toronto Red, TBlue II) than SPY.

I'm not saying SPY won't be popular but I would bet no more than 15% on the M3 (maybe 20% on the M4) over the entire lifecycle, not just the initial adopters.

Remember, we on this forum are a tiny portion of M3/4 buyers.

Which will make my SPY M3 6MT with carbon buckets, carbon interior trim, and carbon exterior trim a very rare bird.
