These things just happen sometimes and there is not much you can do about it. Just a bad batch of parts. It happens. I am sure BMW will make sure the engines affected will either be replaced or repaired properly.
For those drama-queens that do no longer want their cars i am also sure that BMW will take your car back without any issues in the current market. They will then just repair the car and sell it to someone else for a good profit. Maybe they will even sell you another M3 for delivery next year, so now they have sold 2 cars instead of 1. I am sure BMW will be fine.
