I honestly don't think they know yet.
Obviously the situation is evolving daily - it appears the number of cars affected is also moving around as they further identify and isolate cars that received the defective batch(es) of bearings during manufacture.
Some clarity via an official statement from BMW is long overdue for us affected owners.
