My SA told me that he uses them with the heated seats to move air around. I'm currently building mine and although I'm in TX, I'm skipping out on them because they were a total letdown. Porsche has fantastic ones. Audi and Mercedes. not so much. My 2015 F82 didn't have a ventilated option so I can't speak to BMW. I order my G82 with carbon fiber seats so unfortunately you can't get them with that option. If I could I would have.
