I mean, sure, if they released a G42 that was a complete horror show of a thing fair enough. To my eyes though this looks pretty tidy, obviously there's a few minor details that may not please everyone.

At the end of the day, BMW should get at least some credit for even bothering with a 2 series coupe in todays climate. Small(ish) 2-door rear drive coupes are a vanishingly rare breed nowadays and given the push to electric (and the investments required), combined with relatively small sales figures, they could have easily just killed off this model entirely.

So I'm not saying forgive them for any old nonsense they push out the door, but there are fair worse things than some slightly bulky mirrors or a triangular shaped vent.

Modern safety standards and market expectations mean this will never be a Lotus Elise or Caterham 7 flyweight, so if thats what you want you'll never be happy anyway.

On the positive side, I suppose though if a few minor design points are all you've got to complain about that's probably a good thing right?!
I like this car so far, but if BMW really wanted to make this car small and light, they could even with the current regulations.

The current Miata is slightly shorter, and lighter, than the original one which came out 30 years ago. It's possible.
