It's a red red base that has a bit of an orange hue to it in certain lighting conditions due to the silver metallic flakes in the paint. It pops more than most reds as I get lots of "nice color" comments. If orange really bothers you I would advise you to seek out an X3/4M or X5/6M in TR if a local dealer has them on their lots to see for yourself as pictures don't always tell the story when it comes to a lot of shades.
