I’m old enough to remember the e60 M5 and the backlash that came with it. What Bangle and his team did was such an affront to our sensibilities that I ended up opting for the CLS63 instead.
I’m of the opinion that everyone (including me) were completely wrong about the e60 M5. Of course it’s easy to say that now but back then the backlash was ugly.
BMW had to have that sort of revolution for us to get the cars we have today. This is that all over again. And this time I’m jumping in!
With a little bit of time this design will grow on us. And in 6 years you’ll get your M8 styled evolution again |
The Bangle designs though still looked like BMWs, just kinda ugly BMWs.
There's almost no BMW in this new design.
The F8X series sold well, there was no reason to do this.
